    Scholarship Application
     General Information

The National Association of The Bahamas provides annual scholarships of US$500 - $1,500 each toward
the tuition of Bahamian students or students of Bahamian descent enrolling in colleges/universities in the
United States, at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Scholarships funds are NOT disbursed to the student, but to the college/university of his/her choice.  All
recipients are expected to interact with the National Association of The Bahamas – Miami and any of its
ongoing fund raising events/meetings where possible.

                                       Selection Criteria

The following criteria are used to determine scholarship winners.
1.        Must be of Bahamian Descent
2.        Must be already enrolled in degree program or enrolling for upcoming Semester.
3.        Academic Merit – based on grades,  test scores, honors, awards and recommendations.  
4.        All applicants for Undergraduate Scholarships must posses at least a  2.5 GPA or equivalent.  
Applicants for Graduate Scholarships must possess an Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above.
5.        Financial need

              APPLICATION DEADLINE :  JUNE 15th of year applying

THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS MADE FOR APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER DEADLINE DATE.

In addition to the completed application, you MUST submit all of the following:

1.        Up-to-Date official transcripts of academic records from previous and present
schools/colleges.
2.        Copy of Letter of Acceptance from college/university.
3.        Two letters of recommendation
4.        A brief statement of your career plans and the contributions you would like to make to
the Bahamian community upon graduation.
